Rossi recovers in unpredictable weather conditions to extend championship lead

It was a typical English summer at the Donington Park on Sunday for round 10 of the MotoGP World Championship. The wet-dry conditions made it a race full of gambles as teams and riders struggled in the mixed conditions. Starting from third on the grid, Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo had led the first part of the race before crashing out on lap 8 handing the lead to teammate Rossi. However, the worsening condition claimed another victim when Rossi also suffered a crash later in the race. The Italian managed to get back on his bike to continue, fighting his way back before finishing fifth. With the result Valentino Rossi extends his lead in the championship to 25 points over teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Team Report
