ARRC09: PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Malaysia, Rider Profile - Ahmad Fuad Baharudin

Share |

PETRONAS SPRINTA Yamaha Malaysia Team
Season 2009
PETRONAS FIM Asia Road Racing Championship
Rider Profile: Ahmad Fuad Baharuddin

  • PETRONAS SPRINTA Raceline Team - Expert Category, PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix, Expert (#26)
  • PETRONAS SPRINTA Yamaha Malaysia - SuperSports 600cc category, PETRONAS FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (#2)

A man of steel, Fuad is the middle of three racing siblings. Growing up racing with his older brother, who is also an accomplished racer himself, Fuad has managed to carve a place for himself both at the domestic and regional level. Able to hold his own against riders from the rest of the world, Fuad feeds off his steely cool demeanour in the face of any adversity.

Fierce, determined and competitive, Fuad rarely takes no for an answer, underlying his no-nonsense personality, a quality that serves as a source of inspiration to his younger teammates. In the face of adversity over the decade that he has been racing, the man from Kampung Gajah, Perak takes it in his stride, drawing inspiration from his own mistakes.

When queried over his rivalry with his brothers or his peers, Fuad’s non-descript response serves as his theme, “winning and/or losing is all a part of racing.” An intelligent rider both on and off the bike, he is also very much aware of his status as a senior in the team. Fuad places discipline over everything else in the way he behaves and acts in the team, a staunch believer in leading by example to the younger riders around him.
