Tatsuya Kataoka: Top Gun Speed

Tatsuya Kataoka has had quite an illustrious racing career since making his competitive debut in karts in 1992. Dominating the local kart scene, Kataoka moved up to more competitive levels of racing, including single-seaters, competing in the Formula Toyota and the All-Japan F3 with impressive results. His move into GT300 in 2003 was equally as impressive, chalking two race wins in the two races he participated in.

While continuing to make his presence felt in the GT racing scene, Kataoka also began competing in the Formula Nippon series in 2004, with impressive results. A Toyota supported driver, Kataoka claimed victory in the prestigious Tokachi 24-Hours race in 2007 at the wheels of the SARD Toyota Supra Hybrid.

Joining the PETRONAS Syntium Team driver ranks in 2008, Kataoka brings with him a wealth of experience as one of the four new additions as the team embarks on its second full season in the Super Taikyu Endurance series.

An experienced hand all-round, 2008 will also be the first time that the man from Aichi near Nagoya joins the PST ranks to compete in the PETRONAS Primax 3 Merdeka Millennium Endurance race at the Sepang International Circuit.
