Troy Corser has been told to rest the shoulder he injured before the final race of the 2003 season at Magny-Cours.
The Aussie banged his shoulder in crashing on the warm-up lap for the second race in Magny-Cours.
And, after experiencing pain for nearly two months, he decided to have a scan at his home in Monaco, which revealed severe inflammation of the ligaments.
The injury forced him out of last weekend’s Shark X-Trem event in France and he has been told to rest over the Xmas period, which he will be spending at home in Australia.
Troy said: “It was very sore after the crash. Now there is no pain, except for when I lift my arm above me head, so I will have to take it easy for a few weeks. And after reading about Chris’s experiences in France, I’m glad I decided not to risk it.”
The rest of the FPR team will be joining Troy in Australia mid-January for a three-day test at Phillip Island.
