The World Superbike Championship organiser, FGSPORT, has announced that the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Italy, has been awarded the ‘Race Organiser of the Year’ award for the second time – the first time being 1999.
The management team at FGSPORT along with the championship’s top teams carefully analysed each race event from an organisational, promotional and sporting point of view, with the fastest circuit on the WSBK calendar achieving pole position!
And the Monza round of the 2004 championship also proved fruitful for FPR, with the team’s then riders, Troy Corser and Chris Walker, achieving four points scoring race finishes between them - Troy claiming 9th and 5th and Chris finishing 8th and 7th in races one and two respectively.
Paolo Flammini declared: “We hope that this well deserved success will be seen as a good reward for some of the investments and development already undertaken at the circuit. We send our warmest congratulations to all the Monza staff and wish them the very best in 2005.”
Monza will host the fourth round of the 2005 WSBK Championship on 6-8 May.
