PSR Riders To Defend Rankings in Respective Classes in Kangar

With the penultimate round to be held in Kangar this weekend before the long Ramadhan-break, team strategy will revolve around defending Md Suhadi Ali Rahmat's 4th overall ranking in the Expert Category and aggressively improving the overall placements for Md Syahnas Shahidan, Md Noorfakar Md Fuad, and Md Hanizam Md Sanusi in the Expert and Novice classes.

Historically, the 1.234km Kangar track has been fruitful for the team's riders, particularly Suhadi and Syahnas in the Expert category. Both riders have scored numerous podiums and race victories at this circuit while in the hunt for the WIRA and Novice titles in 2002 and 2003. In 2002, Suhadi won the WIRA Final in Kangar while in 2003, Syahnas grabbed the chequered flag in his quest to become the 2003 Novice Champion.

Both riders are now intending to put the incidences in Taiping behind them and are looking forward to the next round of the adrenaline-pumping competition in Kangar. "I am currently 4th overall in the Expert leader board. It will be a bit difficult to break into the top-3 at this juncture as I hold 57 points to Shahrul Nizam Tajuddin's 80 points. However, this is the highest ranking that I've ever achieved since being upgraded to the Expert class in 2004 and I will do my best to maintain this position. My closest competition all season has been Zulhelmi Ahmad. He is currently trailing me by 4 points and I will need to finish ahead of him in the remaining races to remain 4th overall," said Suhadi.

Meanwhile, Syahnas who has amassed 30 points to date, stands a good chance of improving his current 10th overall position. "Eveready-Raceline's Ahmad Fuad Baharudin and SKF Enduro SCK Racing's Abdul Halim Zahid will be my toughest competitor," said Syahnas.

Meanwhile, in the Novice category, Md Noorfakar Md Fuad and Md Hanizam Md Sanusi are 4th overall and 7th overall respectively. The closer competition in this class means that both riders still stand a very good chance of improving their rankings. Noorfakar is 4th overall and needs to overcome a mere 5-point margin to take 3rd overall away from Hi-Rev Malaysia's Zaiermanhady Zaifaizal. His team mate Hanizam will have to finish ahead of Md Fadzlin Md Noor (Shell Advance KF) and Md Zamri Baba (MOS Ah Hong Yamaha) in order to pull within sighting distance of the top-5.
